Welcome to Art at Home: Reading, Reusing, and Recycling

Course Overview Goals: To utilize reading and creative responses to inspire art making practice, as well as exploring creative reuse (upcycling), as access points and outlets to the arts for students who are blind or visually impaired.

Objectives: 

• To engage students at any level in arts making practices via various approaches to elicit creative response (ex/ reading, responding, utilizing materials to make a course content-inspired works of art).

• To support students in finding a topic of interest to create multiple projects from engagement in course content & class discussion.

• To understand how to successfully navigate the online course independently and asynchronously from guidance via the course teacher(s).

Learning Outcomes: 

Students who complete the course should be able to:

• Understand how to successfully navigate the online course independently and asynchronously from the course teacher.

• Create at least one tangible work of art based on some content from the course.

• Complete all required tasks from the given course (if applicable).
