2026 Braille Boot Camp
Braille Boot Camp is a free, one-day accelerated workshop designed for parents of children with visual impairments, early intervention providers, teachers, and friends or family of braille readers who are interested in learning more about braille. Participants will learn uncontracted, Grade 1 braille in an introductory and supportive setting. Unfortunately, childcare will not be provided.

How to Sign Up
You’ll receive an email with the appropriate info to access the workshop after you sign up.
What will I learn?
- How to read and write the braille alphabet
- The pattern and formation of the braille code
- How to use a Grade 1 braille cheat sheet and decipher short Grade 1 braille passages
What should I expect?
- Participants can expect a one-day intensive, in-person training focused on beginning braille literacy
- Coffee, tea, water, and light snacks will be served
- Participants may bring lunch or purchase lunch from nearby locations
