Scientists have recently been able to sequence the Neanderthal genome and produce an artificial mini-brain incorporating Neanderthal DNA. How does the mini-brain compare with a modern mini-brain in appearance and function? Based on a June 2018 CARTA presentation on “Imagination and Human Evolution” at UCSD, this lecture considers the evolution of Neanderthals and Homo Sapiens, their interbreeding and the role that imagination and brain power played in facilitating the survival of the latter over the former.

This workshop is presented by Lawrence Solomon and is FREE for Braille Institute students, volunteers and Library subscribers. All others should contact San Diego Oasis by phone at (619) 881-6262 or email, sandiegooasis.org
