Money Management – Identifying Coins & Using a Signature Guide

Now when organizing your coins or identifying them, right now on the screen, I have a quarter, a nickel, a dime, and a penny. Just remember that the ones that have ridges are the quarter and the dime. And, the ones with the smooth edges are the nickel and the penny. So, that helps you identify coins when you’re using your sense of touch to know which coin you are paying with.

Okay, so when you’re at a restaurant and you’re going to pay with a credit card, if the check is difficult for you to see, let the waiter know so the waiter can read it to you. Always ask if the tip is included or not.

It’s always a great idea to carry a writing guide with you. We will let you know how to purchase one of these in our resource section. 

How this works — it’s a card, almost the size of an ATM card or credit card, but in the center, there’s an open slot for you to sign. It’ll help you stay in between the lines. 

For example, if I want to sign my name on this check, I would set it right on top of the receipt, or ask the waiter to place it where it needs to sit so I can sign. I would just sign my name, and the signature guide will help me stay in the lines where I’m supposed to.

Let me bring this up a little bit. So here, my name is consistent with the writing guide. 

You can also use this when you’re writing a check. It makes it easier to just set your writing guide on top of the check where you need to sign, and when you’re ready to sign, it will help you stay in the line where your signature is required.
