And I will be marking and labeling a microwave, air fryer, and a couple items that we use in our kitchen daily.
On your screen, what is showing is just a regular black microwave, and it is a flat surface. So, it makes it difficult to identify where your buttons are at, so that you can heat up your food.
Marking and labeling is a great technique that helps you identify buttons by using bump dots. Here on your screen, I am just showing you a couple of dots that I will be using for the microwave. So, when you are marking and labeling your appliance, it’s always a good idea to wipe them down just to get the grease off, or oil, or anything at all, so that the bump dots stick nicely. I am going to just wipe down my keypad and let it dry for a second.
All right, and just keep in mind that on any appliances you want to mark, you want to mark those settings that are used most frequently. So, for example, here I am going to mark the one and the two because they’re easy to use, and that will heat up my food in one or two minutes.
So, let’s go ahead and just put a bump dot over my number one. And then I’m going to put a bump top on my start which is below right down on the right hand corner and I’m also going to put a bump dot on my pause and stop. Those are the ones that I frequently use when using this microwave.
Okay, so currently – what I did was I just put a bump dot on my number one, which is on the upper left hand corner, and below my number one – if I just go straight down to my bottom left hand corner, I have my pause and stop.
And then, going down, guiding myself to the right, I have my start button labeled as well.
These are just ideas, because this is something I would label because I am usually using the one minute setting on my microwave. This makes it easier to find because I’m able to locate the bump dot with my finger, and that’s letting me know that that’s my one. So, I’m going to go ahead and press it.
And then I am going to move down and guide myself to my start button on the bottom right-hand corner. I can feel it (the bump dot), and I can just hit the start button. (Microwave starts).
And that technique with your microwave makes it easier because you are able to feel what settings you like, and which settings you use most.
And if you’re someone who likes to use the 30-second start button, you can just make it that simple where you would just put a bump dot right where your start slash 30-second setting is.
You can focus on marking the following 3 areas with bump dots:
(1) The upper left-hand corner, where #1 is (1 minute of cooking).
(2) The bottom left-hand corner, where the pause button is (stop cooking).
(3) The bottom right-hand corner, where the start and 30-second button is (start cooking, cook for 30 seconds).
