Okay, today we’re going to mark and label our air fryer. Marking and labeling your appliances in your kitchen makes it a bit easier when you find yourself having difficulties locating the buttons due to it being too flat of a surface or just memorizing the buttons in general.
So here, I’m going to just point out which buttons are on this air fryer. So on the left side we have a big power button. Right next to that we have the temperature button. We have the up and the down. And then in the center here we have a screen where it has, where it displays the temperature and the time.
And then if we continue on right on the right side, it has the time, and this is where you either increase your time up or you go down. And then right at the end of that we have a start and pause.
So the, this can be a bit challenging. First off, if you still have some eyesight and you wanna add some color contrast, you would select a color that stands out. For example, here we have a black air fryer. If you want to apply some green bump dots, it is helpful in terms of color contrast, but it also has a benefit — you have the capability of feeling it, so that it is easier for you to find.
Right now I put a bump dot right where it says power button. And then I’m going to just go down and put a bump dot on the temperature button. I’m going to put a bump dot where the up button is located, and then a bump dot on the decrease. And then we’re going to put some bump dots where you can also add your time, the up and down.
Now when you’re marking and labeling, it’s best if you just make it and tailor it to what works best for you. If this is a little bit too much, and you just want to focus on the temperature, and you can figure out the time — it really is what works best for you.
But this is just giving you a demonstration on how to mark and label your buttons on your air fryer. So let’s go ahead and begin. I’m going to hit the start button with my sense of touch. I’m going to it and hit start. And then I want to increase my temperature to 400.
Another tip is when you turn your air fryer on, and it automatically goes to a certain temperature, it’s set at that temperature. Just remember when you are going to up the temperature, you remember the increments. So for example, this one automatically starts at 390, and when I hit the up button, it is adding five degrees hotter.
Listening to the click of the air fryer helps. So for example, right now I’m at 400. I want to go down to 350. I would just remember how many clicks it’ll take for me to go down. So 380, 375, 370, 365, etc.
Now we’re going to go to the time. And then again, this one starts at 20 when you hit the up button, so you would remember, okay, I wanna go down to 19,18. As you go down, it only increases or decreases by one minute. And that’s just a quick example of marketing and labeling.
In the lesson video, the air fryer is marked with the following:
(1) The power button.
(2) The up and down arrows for temperature (this model increases or decreases by 5 degree increments).
(3) The up and down arrows for time (this model increases or decreases by 1 minute increments).
*Please note, each brand and model of air fryer is different, and settings and buttons may vary depending on the type of air fryer you are using. Focus on adding bump dots to the settings and buttons that you use most on your model, in a way that makes the most sense for you.

High-contrast graphics of sample air fryer dials. From left to right, there is a power button, up and down arrows for temperature, a central screen that gives a digital readout of the temperature and/or time remaining when cooking, up and down arrows for time, and a start or pause button. As described in the lesson video, the power button and all up and down arrows are marked with tactile bump dots, in green for contrast.
