About UEB (Unified English Braille)

FOR THE 2018 BRAILLE CHALLENGE, ALL CONTESTS FOR ALL GRADE LEVELS WILL BE IN UEB. THERE WILL BE NO EBAE OPTION FOR 2018.

As of January 2016, Unified English Braille (UEB) became the official braille code for the United States. Based on a review of state implementation plans and feedback from our regional coordinators, teachers and National Advisory Committee, ALL of the Braille Challenge contests will be in UEB code.

FOR 2018:

– All forms, registration spreadsheets and other supporting documents will reflect this change
– We will post practice contests in UEB for all grade levels
