San Diego Braille Institute Regional Sight Center
The San Diego Center provides free services to San Diego and Imperial County residents and is located in the heart of the University Town Center area. This beautiful center offers many classes for adults and young people, Library Services, Low Vision Rehabilitation consultations, a Vistas shop and more.

Kitchen Confidence
The kitchen is full of sharp objects, hot stoves and ovens, as well as a confusing cadre of spices, bottles and breakable items. It can be a downright intimidating place for someone with limited vision. But Braille Institute’s programs teach people with visual impairments how to relearn their way around the kitchen and regain their confidence.

Classes
Adaptive Cooking Class
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday – 12:45 – 2:30 p.m. & Wednesday 10:00 - 11:45 a.m.
These classes provide instruction that will give students the confidence to prepare their own meals at home. Topics covered include marking and labeling food products, kitchen organization, safety tips, measuring techniques, and much more.
Adaptive living
Monday - Thursday 11:00 - 11:45 a.m.
Come and learn effective techniques for living better with less vision, including tips and recipes for getting back in the kitchen and regaining your confidence.
