Caitlin Hernandez
Caitlin Hernandez is currently completing her senior year at the University of California, Santa Cruz. A Literature major, she hopes to become a middle- or high school English teacher. This year, she is working at the on-campus Disability Resource Center, leading a Peer Mentor program for incoming freshmen and transfer students with disabilities. She is also an officer for the school's Disability Alliance club, and an assistant director in a student-run a cappella group. In her free time, Caitlin enjoys writing novels for teens, reading, socializing with friends, playing piano, songwriting, swimming, roller blading, and meeting new people.
Claire Stanley
Claire Stanley is a 2011 graduate of the University of California, Davis with a double degree in political science and communication. She is currently applying to law school. As a university student, Claire was active in a myriad of clubs on campus including the Model United Nations team, the president and co-founder of the Student Disability Advocacy Group, and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. She hopes to practice disability rights law. In 2010, she worked in Washington DC for the U.S. Department of Justice, Disability Rights Section. While she waits to hear back from law programs, Claire is currently exploring career options and working as an intern for the director of the Student Disability Center at UC Davis. She is a Southern California native from Orange County where she graduated from high school in 2007. She participated in the National Braille Challenge five times and took home first place in junior varsity in 2004 and in varsity in 2007.
