What types of counseling are available?
Individual advisement on an appropriate curriculum to suit each student's special needs is offered upon admission to classes.

What types of support services are available?
Once a student is formally enrolled they are eligible for support concerning diabetes management, adjustment to sight loss and low vision. Seminars on macular degeneration and other eye diseases, conducted by ophthalmologists, are held at the regional centers each year. Support for parents of blind children is available through Child Development and Youth Services.

Do I have to be enrolled in Braille Institute classes to receive support services?
Braille Institute offers a number of services that are open to the public. (See our Calendar of Events for further information.) Students enrolled with the Institute are eligible for specific support services provided through a variety of classes and seminars.

How do I sign up?
Contact your local regional center for specific support services. For a schedule of when and where support services are held, call 1-800 BRAILLE (272-4553).
