Braille Speed and Accuracy Samples
In this event, contestants in the Sophomore, Junior Varsity, Varsity groups listen to a recorded story and must transcribe it into braille. Contestants are ranked from lowest to highest, based on the number of correct words (including punctuation) they transcribe from the page. A point is subtracted for each word that contains one or more mistakes, including missing or extra words. Please Note: If the computer you are using to download a BRF file DOES NOT have a braille software program installed, please right click on the file and save it to your hard drive, a disk or CD. DO NOT open the file (it will be gibberish). Then take the file to a computer that DOES have a braille software program to access the file.
