Founder's Circle members support vital projects and programs that
might go unfunded without their special support. In fact, the Founder's
Circle project is selected annually by Braille Institute's Chairman of
the Board because of its importance to our organization.
This
year’s project is Braille Institute’s Youth Music Program. This program
touches the lives of many children by promoting self-esteem, musical
training and teamwork. And for many, it has been life-changing as in
the case of one of our students named Charlie.
When Charlie first
came to Braille Institute, he was about as shy as a young teenager could
be. Then, Charlie was invited to participate in the Youth Music Program,
and it enabled him to truly blossom. His parents tell us, “Charlie has
become a different, stronger and more self-reliant person.” We are
deeply grateful to all of the people associated with Braille Institute
for giving our son the best year of his life.”
Once an introverted
teen, Charlie did something no one would have ever imagined. In front
of a packed audience, Charlie sang a beautiful solo from his favorite
musical Phantom of the Opera. To all of our friends and
program supporters, his parents say, “We are deeply grateful to all of
the people associated with Braille Institute for giving our son the best
year of his life.”
Music has the power to reach everyone. Every
year, our Youth Music Program helps boys and girls ages 8 to 18 develop
their independence and gain self-esteem and confidence through musical
performance.
Charlie was a young man without a voice…until friends
like you helped him find it. With his story, it’s easy to see why it
is so important to keep this program available to boys and girls like
Charlie.
To keep our Youth Music Program going, we must raise $100,000. But we can’t do it without your help.
To
become a 2010 Founder's Circle member, we are asking you for a gift of
at least $1,000, to be paid by December 31, 2010. You can send a check
or charge your gift to a major credit card, whichever is most
convenient.
Though we are aware that no one who supports Braille
Institute as a Founder's Circle member does so for "benefits," we want
you to know that your membership with a gift of $1,000 or more includes a
Certificate of Membership, publication of your name in the donor
recognition section of our annual report, and an invitation to a special
Braille Institute event.
You can also take pride in knowing
you’re helping to promote the arts in the community. Our children’s
choir regularly provides free concerts at local festivals and events,
and for senior centers and nursing homes and service groups like the
Lion’s Club.
If for any reason you are unable to join us at the
$1,000 level, please know that any contribution you make will help us
realize our goal—to continue our Youth Music Program.
